Students asking a question at an event

Luann Dummer Center for Women

Our Center (the LDCW) addresses the needs and aspirations of women. We welcome students, faculty, staff, and community members to engage with our programs and resources. These services foster the intellectual, personal, and spiritual development of women, in addition to promoting an open and diverse culture at the University of St. Thomas. The LDCW was established in 1993 by a special bequest from Dr. Luann Dummer’s estate.

The Moth

2025 Women's History Month Speaker

The Moth

Since 1994, the LDCW has hosted a Women's History month speaker in March, offering our community an opportunity to engage with a distinguished woman speaker.

We are thrilled to announce our 2025 Women's History Month Speaker - The Moth. This event will take place on Thursday, March 13 from 7 - 8:30 pm at the O'Shaughnessy Educational Center Auditorium on the St. Paul Campus.

Since its launch in 1997, The Moth has presented thousands of true stories, told live and without notes, to standing-room-only crowds worldwide. Moth storytellers stand alone, under a spotlight, with only a microphone and a roomful of strangers. The storyteller and audience embark on a high-wire act of shared experience that is both terrifying and exhilarating.

Join the Luann Dummer Center for Women for an evening of three feminist-forward, best-of-The Moth female storytellers in honor of Women’s History Month.
