Scholarly Activities

Research Opportunities

Students in any major can partner with faculty mentors to pursue independent research in the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program. Prepare to excel in graduate school in the Excel! Research Scholars Program.

Learning Communities

As a first-year student, you will be a part of either a Living Learning Community (LLC) or a Common Good Learning Community (CGLC).

  • LLC's are specialized living environments that help connect students in and out of the classroom. Each LLC is unique, but all are centered on an academic area of interest or academic program.
  • The goal of a CGLC is to explore the University's mission (to advance the Common Good) through a wide range of academic topics.

Study Abroad

St. Thomas opens a world of opportunity when you study abroad. Choose from more than 100+ different programs in 50 countries for an experience that will last a lifetime, build career potential and give you a unique perspective on the world.

Tommie Sports

As a student, you will have access to plenty of Division I sports teams, and we’ll need you to bring the noise and help us create new traditions. Our Tommies will be competing for opportunities to ball, puck, swim and succeed on the national stage and show people what our university is all about.

Athletics events and pre-and post-game traditions are shared with all Tommies as a great way to meet new friends and unite across campus.
